Effective immediately, the Guilderland Public Library is suspending the acceptance of passport applications.

This change comes as a result of updated guidance from the U.S. Department of State regarding which organizations are authorized to serve as Passport Acceptance Facilities. Per the Department of State and federal law, only state and local government officials and the United States Postal Service may collect and retain passport execution fees. Unfortunately, Guilderland Public Library no longer qualifies per this guidance. 

We know many in our community have relied on this service, and we share your disappointment. Please know that our commitment to serving you remains unwavering. If any community members need assistance in finding Passport Acceptance Facilities, our staff can assist with locating one.
