The annual budget and board candidate vote for Guilderland Public Library is scheduled for Tuesday, May 20th, 2025. Voting will occur at the five Guilderland Elementary schools, in conjunction with the school budget vote. Polls are open from 7 am to 9 pm. The proposed 2025-2026 tax levy of $4,483,561 reflects a 2.4% increase to the operating budget.
The 2025-2026 budget was presented at the March 12th, 2025 Finance Committee meeting and voted on at the March 20th, 2025 Full Board meeting.

“The biggest goal of this year’s budget was to maintain our public programs and services,” said library director Pete Petruski. “We want to sustain our high level of quality service to the Guilderland Community, and that requires a strong library staff.”
“This year’s budget also reflects a small increase to our collection budget, which is used to purchase everything from books and ebooks to museum passes and metal detectors,” Petruski continued. “At the end of the day, books are the cornerstone of libraries and we want to keep building our fantastic collection.”
